On Sunday, it was confirmed that Iran’s Supreme Leader Seyyed Ali Khamenei was indeed killed in the U.S.-Israeli airstrike. When I wrote Saturday’s piece, Iranian media was still showing a scheduled speech by Khamenei, which led me to think that maybe they did not succeed. Now, we know they did. What this also means is that the war started in the worst possible way.
I think that President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu have activated a years- or possibly decades-old defense plan of Iran, which proceeds in highly effective stages. We should also remember that Iran has prepared for this war for, at least, 40 years. Do not expect it to run out of missiles or patience any time soon. It also looks that by removing Khamenei, they have removed the one man standing between the wrath of Iranian generals and the “world.”
Let’s now shortly summarize, how things have proceeded thus and where we look to be heading. To be honest, it looks that “all hell” can break loose.
