My late-April market forecast turned out as a near total failure. This is how the 7-day moving average of daily returns of the S&P 500 for 2025 compares to the 2016-2024 period.

Essentially, whenever the markets had fell during the 2016-2024 period, this year they went up and vice versa, regardless of the (likely) liquidity impulses. This is simply what economic, financial, and geopolitical uncertainty does to the stock markets after a very long bull run. Let’s take a peek at how June looks.
