I think that my worst fears concerning Ukraine are about to come true. The ceasefire “offer”, molded by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Andriy Yermak, the Head of Office of the President of Ukraine, is flawed to the core, even though the specifics of it have not made public. It’s flawed because of its aim and implications.

It’s now obvious that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are in state of catastrophic retreat from Kursk, a Russian region, part of which they have hold since August. They desperately need a breather, which means that they need a “temporary” pause in fighting. This is essentially what President Trump is offering them.

How I see it, the 30-day ceasefire-offer would accomplish just two things:

  1. It would give breathing room for the AFU to regroup and fortify their positions.

  2. It would give European nations time to detail and possibly deploy European ‘boots on the ground’ in Ukraine.

All-in-all, the offered ceasefire looks like a complete victory for the NATO Deep State, if President Putin would accept it. Essentially, I see the offer as a trap, not just for Russia but for the whole Europe. It looks to be the failure we warned about, leading Ukraine becoming President Trump’s Vietnam.
